Entertainment is a broad and varied activity, which provides people with a variety of ways to have fun and be amused. It can be as simple as an individual playing a game, choosing entertainment for their private enjoyment from an enormous range of pre-recorded products; through to the planning and hosting of events requiring extensive catering and facilities, and performance intended for thousands. It can also have a serious purpose, as in the case of ceremony, celebration, religious festival and satire.
