Daily News Newspapers

The New York Daily News is a daily tabloid newspaper founded in 1919. It was the first successful tabloid in the United States and once had the largest circulation of any newspaper in the world. It attracted readers with sensational coverage of crime, scandal and violence, lurid photographs, and celebrity gossip. The paper was owned by Joseph Medill Patterson until his death in 1946, after which it was owned by the Tribune Company of Chicago.

During the early 1900s, the Daily News became a leader in photography and the use of color. The newspaper also introduced sports and entertainment news to its pages. Today, the newspaper still includes large and prominent photographs, intense city news coverage, celebrity gossip, classified ads, comics, a sports section, and an opinion section. The newspaper also has an online version, and is the primary source of information on New York City.

A daily news publication is one that is issued at least once per day during the business year, excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and legal holidays. It is usually a morning publication that provides local, state, and national news. It may also include an opinion page, and in some cases, a feature column or other articles. In addition to printed newspapers, a daily news publication may be available in electronic form on the Internet or via mobile devices.

Throughout the years, the Yale Daily News has featured many writers and contributors who have gone on to become renowned in their fields. Some of the names to have graced its pages include William F. Buckley, Lan Samantha Chang, John Hersey, Sargent Shriver, and Paul Steiger. In addition, countless members of the Yale community have been involved in the production of the paper, either as student editors or staff writers.

In addition to a daily edition, the News also publishes special issues and supplements, including the Weekender. The newspaper is distributed throughout the region and can be found at most locations in New York City, as well as in select suburban areas. It is also distributed in many foreign cities and countries.
