New York State Laws

law new

New laws went into effect this year that make undocumented immigrants eligible for Medi-Cal, legalize telehealth for pets and protect abortion rights. The law also raises the minimum wage for fast food workers and makes it a crime to remove, make or alter a vehicle identification number (VIN) on catalytic converters. The law further increases protections for those seeking medical services from clinics that provide abortions and gender affirming care and prohibits the transfer of firearms to prohibited persons.

Law consists of constitutional, statutory and regulatory provisions and includes decisions by courts regarding interpretations of these laws. The law of the state of New York consists of Constitutional, Statutory and Administrative laws passed by the legislature and periodically codified in the Consolidated Laws. Law also includes rules and regulations of local government.
