The legal industry is always changing and it’s important for lawyers to embrace the new. One way that is happening is with law new, a practice that involves looking for creative ways to help clients. It can involve a variety of strategies and might not always be the main focus for a law firm, but it can serve as an important part of a strategy that aims to maximize revenue and client satisfaction.
The process for creating a new law can be complicated and requires the efforts of several people. A bill is created in Congress by a sponsoring senator or representative and is then put to a committee for research, discussion and changes. After being passed by that committee, it’s sent to the other chamber for the same process and then back to the sponsoring senator or representative for a final vote before becoming a law.
A new law aimed at ending the “pink tax” would make it illegal for stores to charge women different prices for items like shampoo and deodorant. In addition, another law will make it easier for job seekers to know how much a particular position pays by requiring companies to include salary ranges in postings.
While the idea behind this type of law may seem intimidating, it’s actually very beneficial for many firms. It gives them a chance to offer the kind of help that clients need without having to spend all of their time and resources on traditional legal work. It also allows them to diversify their practice so they’re not solely dependent on traditional forms of legal services that may be harder for them to find when the economy slows down.
