Entertainment is a broad concept ranging from a private choice of entertainment from the now vast array of pre-recorded products to banquets adapted for any number of guests, and from concerts, dances and theatre performances for thousands to video games. It is often associated with amusement, but many entertainments have a serious purpose, such as in ceremonies, celebration, religious festivals and satire. One of the most famous examples is the Scheherazade story in the Persian professional storytelling tradition, which inspired a number of orchestral works and films, as well as an innovative video game.
