Entertaiment is the process of occupying and amusing an audience, causing them to forget their daily concerns, by providing them with pleasant experiences. Its forms are diverse, ranging from the simple pleasures of watching movies at home; to the feast for two or more that is prepared and presented in restaurants; to a performance intended for thousands; to a stadium filled with people to enjoy sports and entertainment. The word entertaiment comes from the Old French entretenement, derived from the verb to entertain, and it has many connotations and associations, ranging from light-hearted to serious.
